We are glad you have taken the first step in joining us!

If you are interested in affiliating your church or group with the ISDBA, you will need to take the following steps:

​

1. Fill out a membership application form. This form is used for churches, groups, families and individuals who wish to join as official members with the ISDBA. You can click the link at the bottom of this page to download this form.

2. Read and agree with the following Articles of Faith:

​

     > Creedal Statement

     > Distinctive Baptist Principles

     > Seven Pillars

     > Statement of Faith*

​

*Note: Our Statement of Faith is not intended to be a binding creed upon our members; however, it is a guideline to how most of our people generally believe. It is not necessary to believe every point in the Statement of Faith for membership in the ISDBA; however, it is important for our member churches to be in harmony with the Six Distinctive Baptist Principles and Seven Pillars of our Christian Faith in order for unity to exist among our churches and ministers. It is also necessary for each church and individual member of the ISDBA to be in agreement with the opening paragraph in our Statement of Faith which is as follows:

"We consider liberty of thought under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to be essential to Christian belief and practice. Therefore, we encourage the unhindered study and open discussion of Scripture. We uphold the individual’s freedom of conscience in seeking to determine and obey the will of God. The following statement is not intended to be exhaustive, nor is it intended to be a binding creed or prerequisite to church membership or membership in our association, but is an expression of our common belief, which is derived from our understanding of Scripture. We encourage each church to develop their own Statement of Faith that upholds the 6 Distinctive Principles and 7 Pillars of Faith. (2 Corinthians 3:17-18; 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:3-6 ,15; Romans 10:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Luke 10:25-26.)"

3. Be willing to support the ISDBA with your prayers and offerings. Although financial support is not a requirement for membership, and we recognize that all ISDBA churches are autonomous, we encourage a willingness among member churches to support the preaching of the Gospel and to cooperate with other churches in missionary service. Ultimately, we are part of the same family of faith; therefore, we encourage individual members and churches alike to associate together for more effective ministry and witness, and to grow spiritually in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
